Brut vs Blason Rosè: a battle of Perrier-Jouët bubbles at Pizzaria 94 Agreement signed between Marchesi Antinori and La Notizia, the first Neapolitan pizzeria where you can taste the famous champagne

by Enzo Coccia

Do you still want to toast to 2016? I don’t miss any chances and to wish you a happy new year I have a special champagne in store for you: the Perrier-Jouët! Raise your glass as we have just entered into a partnership with Marchesi Antinori, the Tuscan family of winemakers with six centuries of history and 26 generations, the Italian excellence recognized in the world for the promotion of the renowned French Maison Perrier-Jouët, founded in 1811 and well-known for producing elegant, floral wines of rare finesse. Pizzeria La Notizia 94 and ‘O sfizio d’ ‘a Notizia (which we are opening soon at via Michelangelo da Caravaggio 49-51, Napoli) are going to be the first places in Napoli where you can toast to 2016 with Perrier-Jouët champagne. So, what are you waiting for?

We tasted it for you on Sunday, January 10 with the specialized press and Leonardo Vallone, Italy sales manager at Marchesi Antinori and supervisor of the sales agents in Southern Italy.

We paired the Perrier-Jouët Brut and the Perrier-Jouët Blason Rosè with a tasting menu based on the rotolino (pistachio pesto, smoked mozzarella and mortadella), the pizza Margherita PDO (buffalo mozzarella, San Marzano tomatoes, basil, extra virgin olive oil, grated caciocavallo podolico cheese), the pizza Guardia Costiera (buffalo mozzarella, finely sliced smoked tuna, chives, oregano, basil and lemon flavored oil), the pizza (buffalo mozzarella, black broccoli, smoked herrings and nuts, PDO oil), the saltimbocca filled with homemade dark chocolate.

What’s the result? A safe bet, a perfect combination!
